RAILONE SAFETY SYSTEM ROSS: ACCESS SOLUTION FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES IN TUNNELS
For difficult-to-access sections of railway infrastructure, such as tunnels, RAILONE has developed an ideal access solution that enables emergency vehicles to reach incident locations quickly and safely.
The precast concrete slabs create a level surface at the height of the top of the rail. The system is designed so that individual elements fill the space between the running rails as well as between the running rail and the walkway.
Positional stability is ensured solely through the element’s self-weight and the aerodynamic design of its underside, without the need for additional fixation. As the system is not installed directly on the track slab but is precisely adjusted to the required height on site using cement mortar support points, the RAILONE emergency access system is suitable for virtually all track systems.
High safety and reliability: Industrially manufactured precast concrete elements ensure consistent quality standards and provide stable positioning, even in high-speed rail applications, without additional vertical locking
Fast and cost-effective installation: Can be installed using conventional track construction equipment such as road-rail excavators, both in new tunnels and during refurbishment projects under mixed operating conditions
Flexible application: Suitable for various tunnel concepts, including evacuation scenarios involving road-based emergency services such as fire brigades
No modification of existing tunnel infrastructure required: Neither the drainage system nor the grounding concept needs to be altered or extended
Easy maintenance and inspection: The system can be removed at any time, for example to facilitate track inspections
