RWE RAIL WEIGHBRIDGE, GERMANY

Prescision measurement for heavy haul: Engineering for extreme axle loads.

For RWE’s rail network, RAILONE planned and supervised the integration of a rail weighbridge into the RHEDA 2000® system, enabling the precise measurement of axle loads of up to 45 metric tons.

Lignite trains operating on the power plant operator RWE’s rail network generally have axle loads of 35 metric tons. In exceptional cases, overloading can increase these loads to as much as 45 metric tons. Rail weighbridges are used to record the quantities of lignite transported. As a train passes over the system, the individual axle loads are measured to determine the total load.

RAILONE was commissioned to provide the complete planning and construction supervision for the integration of the rail weighbridge into the RHEDA 2000® ballastless track system.
